The cast list indicates most of the roles in Whenever are intended to be doubled up, can they be cast individually?
Certainly. if you have a company large enough to do it without doubling, that's perfectly acceptable. The musical was only doubled originally as obviously Alan Ayckbourn wrote it with a certain size company in mind - this means it can be tackled by any company sized from nine to more than 20.
